World Stork Day – March 25, 2024

World Stork Day

  • Storks are migratory birds traveling thousands of kilometers from their breeding grounds in Europe and Asia to warmer regions in Africa during the winter months.
  • Storks are highly social birds associated with good luck and fertility in many cultures.
  • They possess incredible eyesight to locate fish, amphibians, reptiles, and insects, which make up a significant portion of their diet.
  • During the breeding season, male storks engage in an elaborate courtship display to attract females.
