World Mangrove Day – July 26, 2023
World Mangrove Day
- Mangroves are a group of trees and shrubs that live in the coastal intertidal zone.
- These trees grow in areas that have low-oxygen soil and where there is slow-moving waters to acculates fine sediments.
- Mangrove forests grow only at tropical and subtropical latitudes near the equator because they cannot handle the freezing temperatures outside these regions.
