World Armadillo Day
- The word Armadillo means “little armored one” in Spanish.
- Armadillos are actually the only animals in the world with the body covered in shells to protect them against enemies and dangers.
- Armidillos are related to sloths and anteaters.
- They live in the tropical parts of South and North America.
- There are 20 species of armadillos and most of them spend their lives in open spaces, but some can be also found in the forests.
