- There are 17 different species of hedgehog found throughout parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
- Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals.
- Hedgehogs have a really long snout to help them forage for their typical diet of insects, worms, caterpillers and berries.
- Hedgehogs have around 5,000 to 7,000 spines on their back.
