Koalas on a whole are heading towards extinction at a very rapid rate. Sadly our governing bodies are usually too late to act to make a difference to their demise. We at KRQ are the only state run 24/7 full koala rescue service operating within Queensland. We will attend and rescue, we have trained koala climbers who can safely retrieve sick or injured koalas from high gum trees. From there, we do a triage assessment and follow through with the necessary treatment plan. KRQ have our own vet on call 24/7 for emergencies and a network of carers to ensure each koala is given the best chance at recovery, rehabilitation and release. We also play an advocacy role for the koala through all levels of government.
