The Central America Mammals represent an unusual mix of species that originated in tropical South America or temperate North America.
Several million years ago when the isthmus rose and connected South America to North America, forest covered corridor allowed many species to travel north and many special to travel south, thus creating a vast array of mammals in Central America.
