The Central American Agouti is an Important Seed Disperser
The Central American Agouti forages for food during the day, feeding on fruit, seeds and nuts using their paws to hold their food while they eat. With very sharp teeth, this rodent is able to crack the hardest of nuts. It will carry and bury many seeds in the forest of which it forgets where some are buried.
