- Apart from sharing a name and lover for bamboo the Giant Panda and Red Panda are not considered to be closely related.
- The diet of a red panda is made up of 98 per cent bamboo.
- Red Pandas are solitary animals, spending most of their life on their own and coming together only to breed.
- The males play no part in bringing up any offspring.
