Similar to elephant trunks, the flexible snout of the Tapir help scarry out many functions; grasping hard-to-reach leaves and fruits, used as a snorkel when the tapir is swimming or diving underwater.

Malayan tapir – Endangered
Mountain tapir – Endangered
Baird’s tapir – Endangered
Lowland tapir – Vulnerable
